On 24 October, the 27th RIGA FASHION WEEK was opened. This autumn RFW program included fashion shows of such Latvian designers as Anna Led, Atis Artemjevs, Dace Bahmann, Katya Katya, Natalija Jansone, Nóló, One Wolf, Talented, KULT, AntiStar, Bulichev, QooQoo, Aristocrat Kids and Paade Mode, as well as foreign designers BIRYUKOV (Russia), Lena Lumelsky (Belgium), DiLiborio (Italy) un Diana Arno (Estonia).
RIGA FASHION WEEK opening event was organised in cooperation with the BOLD Concept Store at the Art and Technology Quarter “Sporta 2”. Significantly, that during RFW fashion brand KULT that was created by the design concept store BOLD, showcased their first collection. Atis Artemjevs also presented his newest collection at the opening event.
This season, the young fashion designer Evija Saitere has created a special exhibition “404”, dedicated to her new collection, which was unveiled at RIGA FASHION WEEK. This exhibition was opened to everyone.
Store Paviljons hosted media lunch, where the store’s founders announced the new project JAUNS, which brings together brands One Wolf, Talented and Paviljons Studio, as well as a media presentation of Le Chevalier Boutique at 20 Kalku street.
Baltic Fashion Federation, the organizer of RIGA FASHION WEEK, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Latvia and the Latvian Academy of Arts on 26 October from 16:00-17:30 at the Latvian Academy of Arts (13 Kalpaka blvd, room 19) was organizing an open lecture by professor Davide Petraroli, from the world-famous Italian fashion college Istituto Marangoni on topic “ACTION BRANDS (critical approach)”. Fashion students of all higher education institutions and other interested parties were invited to the open lecture in Riga, participation was free of charge.
A special party for this fashion week in Riga was organised by team of brand Dace Bahmann, there was chosen a special venue for it – the art gallery-bar – Bar Apartment 22 (22 Gertrudes street). The A22 project is a unique platform for representatives of arts community, it was providing informative lectures, training seminars in order to create a diverse and colourful creative life in Riga and fill it with fresh ideas. The contemporary art gallery A22 offered an introduction to the works of Latvian and foreign artists, as well as to taste special cocktails, which, according to the authors of the project, is an organic addition to works of art.
On 27 October BOLD Concept Store organized designer Showroom of RIGA FASHION WEEK, at their premises – 18A Baznicas street. Designers like Atis Artemjevs, Aristocrat Kids, Cinnamon Concept, Dace Bahmann, Deeply Personal, KULT, One Wolf, QooQoo and Talented were represented at this showroom. The showroom was intended for buyers from Latvia and abroad, mainly from Russia.
For the second season designers who participate at RIGA FASHION WEEK were following the “see now, buy now trend”, and were offered exclusive opportunity to buy the garments from the new collections shown on the catwalk of RFW, on dates from 30-31 October. The new collections were available to shop for in their stores or studios: Anna Led (Bergs Bazaar, 84 Dzirnavu), AntiStar (3 A. Pumpura), Bulichev (4 Z.A. Meierovica), Katya Katya (salon “6. Septembris”, 7 Mucenieku), Natalija Jansone (3 Jana), NÓLÓ (Spice, 29 Lielirbes, and Galerija Centrs, 16 Audeju), One Wolf (10-4 Lacplesa), QooQoo (8 Martas). While the spring/summer 2018 garments from designers Atis Artemjevs, Dace Bahmann and were sold at the BOLD Concept Store, 18a Baznīcas street.
