Watches of Switzerland is set to hold the first public exhibition of the 2023 GPHG nominees in North America, building on their successful showcase of the 2022 GPHG winners. This extension of their exclusive partnership with the Grand Prix D’Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG) is a significant milestone. Established in 2001 under the auspices of the Canton and City of Geneva, the GPHG’s mission is to recognize and honour outstanding contemporary watchmaking creations. In its pursuit of global promotion of horological artistry, the GPHG conducts an annual award ceremony, often referred to as the “Oscars” of the watch industry, in November. This year, leading up to the prestigious event, the GPHG is organizing a worldwide exhibition tour, with stops in key cities such as New York City, Macao, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Geneva, Dubai, and Zurich.
Watches of Switzerland, in collaboration with the GPHG, will exclusively host the 2023 GPHG nominees’ global exhibition in New York City, marking its sole North American appearance. As an extension of their partnership, Watches of Switzerland will present nominees from all 15 categories of the 2023 GPHG awards. The exhibition, aimed at further cultivating the watch community in the United States, will be open to the public from Wednesday, October 18th through Saturday, October 21st, at their flagship store in SoHo, New York. This event will serve as the inaugural showcase of the 2023 GPHG nominees and the only opportunity for the North American audience to experience these esteemed and prestigious horological masterpieces firsthand following the August 30th nominee announcement ceremony.
