Casio has just unveiled the latest addition to its G-LIDE series for extreme sports enthusiasts, under the iconic G-SHOCK brand known for its unbeatable durability. Meet the GLX-5600KB, the third signature model backed by world-class pro surfer Kanoa Igarashi.
Kanoa Igarashi, a top competitor on the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour, embodies the spirit of relentless ambition—always pushing boundaries to reach new heights. His dynamic energy and commitment to excellence align perfectly with G-SHOCK’s ethos, making him the ideal ambassador for TEAM G-SHOCK, a group that supports athletes excelling under time-sensitive conditions.
The GLX-5600KB is based on the G-LIDE GLX-5600, a watch built with features specifically tailored for surfers. Drawing inspiration from the ocean’s intense waves that Igarashi skillfully rides, this shock-resistant timepiece is engineered to endure the toughest environments. It features a protective wire frame for extra glass protection and a unique mixed-colour moulding design that blends black and grey, mimicking the powerful ocean waves. Thanks to an advanced moulding technique, each piece boasts a one-of-a-kind resin pattern, ensuring no two watches are exactly alike.
In line with environmental considerations, the bezel and band are made from bio-based resin, designed to reduce ecological impact. The GLX-5600KB is packed with personal touches from Igarashi, including his signature on the case back, a clean and minimalistic face with his initials illuminated by the EL backlight, and his signature CT surfer number, 50, engraved at the base of the band.
