The Andrew Coimbra design process has consistently focused on amplifying timeless silhouettes so they feel invigorated with fresh twists and functional details. This tradition is honoured in the Fall 2020 Ready-To-Wear Collection, which explores iconic pieces of the metropolitan woman’s wardrobe and offers a new perspective on the quotidien. Andrew Coimbra created pieces that become ‘lifelong’ additions to the wardrobe: to be celebrated and admired as they mature with one’s personal style. A focus was put on sourcing headstock – rescuing beautiful fabric from going to landfills – which make up 50% of the final collection. Each piece is designed and skillfully made in Toronto, Canada, underlining the label’s enduring commitment to sustainable and ethical production.
With a focus on timeless materials of impeccable quality, the Fall 2020 Ready-To-Wear Collection traverses a highly textural landscape. Brick coloured ombré silk chiffon, wool/silk blend bouclé, bonded and embossed cruelty-free patent leather with a snakeskin finish, horsehair-like 100% wool coating, printed waterproof nylon, and quattro stagioni Italian silk/wool blend suiting round out a truly versatile collection.
This versatility is echoed in the pieces themselves; the potential for dynamic layering with shape-shifting styles that balance the ideals of simple classics and new, bold statement pieces. A highlight is the three-in-one convertible wrap blazer, made of a quattro stagioni Italian wool/silk blend suiting that pays homage to the curvature of a woman’s body. Its asymmetric style wraps along the bust line and over a vest component for a beautifully smooth and flattering transformation.
