Burberry has collaborated with Gosha Rubchinskiy on pieces featuring as part of his SS 18 collection, revealed on the runway in Saint Petersburg.
A selection of eight men’s pieces has been designed in collaboration with the Russian designer, including new interpretations of the iconic Burberry trench coat and signature outerwear styles. Reimagined in oversized shapes, the pieces pose a contrast to the rest of Gosha’s collection, creating a contemporary look rooted in the brand’s heritage. Additional pieces include shirts, shorts and hats, teaming up with British milliner Stephen Jones, who partnered with Gosha to design all the headpieces in his collection.
“I have been a big supporter and admirer of Gosha’s creative work for a long time. He has an innate cultural sensibility and I was honoured when he asked us to collaborate together for his new collection. His reinterpretation of some of our most iconic designs, feels exciting, new and relevant whilst paying enormous respect to their British cultural heritage”, says Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer.
“Burberry has always symbolised the epitome of classic British style to me. Their timeless pieces are the perfect balance to our modern streetwear creating a great mix. I’m very happy with the result of our collaborative work”, says Gosha Rubchinskiy.
Gosha’s latest collection will launch in January 2018.
