Calvin Klein Collectionpresented their latest collection on the runway at the new Spring Studios in Tribeca, which marked Francisco Costa’s tenth year as the brand’s Women’s Creative Director, to an audience that included special guests, Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara, Naomie Harris and Alexander Skarsgård –all of whom were wardrobed in Calvin Klein Collection looks.
“I was thrilled to show my collection in this beautiful new space today,” said Mr. Costa. “After a decade with the brand, I feel I have respected the legacy of the house, while pushing it forward and I am invigorated for what lies ahead.”
The women’s Spring 2014 Calvin Klein Collection represents a primitive, urban simplicity. Modern essentials are designed with a deconstructive approach, met with astute precision. Elaborate thread work, weaving and embroidery infuse texture and color into the collection grounded in black and white. The contrast of primal and contemporary sensibilities continues with the season’s complementing accessories.
There were eight exclusive models in the runway show, including Elodia, who both opened and closed the show, as well as Anouk, Carolina S., Cindy, Cassi, Harper, Kasia and Vera.
An after-party in honor ofMr. Costa, to celebrate his Spring 2014 runway show and his ten years as the Women’s Creative Director of the brand, will be held later this evening on a different floor of Spring Studios. The event will also serve as the global launch of the new fragrance DOWNTOWN Calvin Klein, of which Ms. Mara is the face of the just released campaign.
