Today, Diane von Furstenberg unveils her highly anticipated 2024 Spring Collection, titled “The First Woman,” marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic wrap dress. This milestone occasion is commemorated with the exclusive Wrap 50 capsule, comprising sixteen meticulously crafted pieces.
At the core of the capsule are six updated interpretations of the classic wrap jersey silhouettes, featuring a unique black and white crossword puzzle design. Each puzzle spells out DVF brand mantras, infusing the collection with a playful yet sophisticated charm.
In a stunning collaboration, Diane joins forces with magician and New York Times crossword puzzle constructor David Kwong to create a custom crossword puzzle. Upon completion, this puzzle transforms into a unique print adorning a luxurious 100% silk scarf, a standout accessory within the collection.
Enriching the capsule are ten styles featuring the iconic Python print, reimagined in reversible mesh variations. With lively green and neutral brown hues, these versatile garments offer a contemporary twist on a timeless favourite.
Before the release of the Wrap 50 capsule, fashion enthusiasts were treated to “Woman Before Fashion,” a tempting book curated by Nicolas Lor. Chronicling an exhibition dedicated to Diane von Furstenberg’s remarkable journey, this publication captivated audiences at the Fashion & Lace Museum in Brussels, Belgium, from April 2023 to January 2024.
As anticipation mounts, Diane von Furstenberg takes center stage in an upcoming documentary directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Set to premiere on Hulu in 2024, this documentary promises to provide a personal and inspiring portrayal of one of fashion’s most influential figures.
