Thigh-high vinyl shoes may be not the first thing which comes to mind when we think of Dior, but from Raf Simons we expect the unexpected. There were no romantic ball gowns in this collection, other way around, by using colourful prints and loads of plastic details maison Dior seems to connect the traditional, classy couture looks with something more modern, related to outer world. Designer played with texture variety – transparent plastic coat on lace dress or the same coat on embroidered outfit, shiny jumpsuits and sparkling dresses created experimental looks, which broke the ‘typical’, madame-like couture image. Simons’ high fashion spring collection introduced interesting view of ‘50s and ‘60s kind-of-shapes, but from playful set of plastic, embroidery and guipure materials. All the fascinating garments, together with those different lengths, bright coloured vinyl shoes, under the glass ceiling, reflected the joyful vision of Raf Simons and Dior.
