Dries van Noten is considered to be one of top Belgian fashion designers and he stands out by always finding a way to combine things and details which cannot go with each other from the first sight. Recently the new fragrance Dries van Noten par Frederic Malle was presented and the perfume has an interesting and fascinating story from an idea to its realisation. The overall idea of the collaboration came out because Frederic Malle was looking for inspiring personalities in order to create new fragrances. He was ought to create the image of a designer, a personality as he sees it, just by fragrance. While taking a look to the clothes collections of van Noten, beautiful play of colours and unusual, eastern-like prints and textures come to the mind first, however they are followed by structured and clear forms. The perfumer who made the magic image of van Noten was Bruno Jovanovic and his work had really answered the purpose of creating warm image of the designer. The two key components are sandalwood and vanilla, which create little bit sweet and feminine notes, but surroundings of jasmine and saffron gives that savour which makes fragrance suitable for both sexes. Eclectic but at the same time sensual and classic impression of the fragrance emphasizes distinctiveness of a person and literally paints the image of a personality.
