Bara Prasilova is Czech artist, who mastered the skill of blending commercial photography with fine arts into one unique category of her own. In her works the key feature is mixture of reality and fiction. Bara loves creating surreal world in photographs, where we can spot, “what could have happened if we drop the habit of drawing our own limits”. This year she was elected one of the Hasselblad Masters and worked on a shooting for the book. The project theme was “Evolve”, where the word itself refers to the development in the future. With these works Bara tried to understand the human relationships and interconnections. According to the author, “Long hair symbolises the invisible strings we use to strap somebody to us or, perhaps, the opposite, to let somebody loose. They are the threads of our emotions, worries and fears that we are afraid to loosen like hair”. In the photo series there are pastel colours domination, however saturated yellow or red sometimes strikes for the contrast. In the end, Bara captured our attention for the whole set of funny conceptual images and her works took creative photography to the whole new level.
