Renowned Danish photographer Marc Hom has captured some of the world’s most famous faces. His iconic portraits feature Hollywood and cultural elites like Anne Hathaway, Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, and King Frederik X of Denmark.
“Marc Hom: Re-Framed” is a fresh take on his work, showing from May 25 to September 2, 2024, at Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, NY. This exhibit offers a traditional gallery set up alongside an outdoor display. Here, his polished portraits are printed eleven feet high on Masonite frames, swaying with the wind.
Inspired by sculpture gardens such as Storm King, Hom aims to break conventional gallery norms. Visitors will encounter 28 larger-than-life portraits, including Anne Hathaway and Johnny Depp, set against the scenic Otsego Lake.
“I love seeing art in different settings,” says Hom. “Spring, snow, rain, summer, shadow, sun—they all offer unique perspectives. So, why not merge a controlled exhibition with the open outdoors?”
Organized by Fenimore Art Museum and supported by Nellie and Robert Gipson and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O. Putnam, the exhibit also includes Hom’s new book, “Re-Framed.” The 160-page hardcover, detailing the portraits and the exhibit’s development, is available exclusively at the museum and online.
