MING, the independent watch brand redefining the art of timekeeping, is proud to announce that its 37.09 Bluefin dive watch has won the Sports Watch Prize at the 2024 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG). This prestigious recognition marks MING’s second GPHG accolade, following the Horological Revelation Prize in 2019.

The 37.09 Bluefin stands as a bold reimagining of the traditional dive watch. Featuring an innovative luminous rotating sapphire dial in place of a standard dive bezel, a pressure-balanced case offering 600m water resistance, and compact dimensions of 38mm x 12.8mm, it merges functionality with daring design. A display back completes the watch’s distinctive aesthetic, proving that performance and elegance can coexist seamlessly.

Ming Thein, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, reflects on the achievement:
“The Bluefin embodies the spirit of innovation that has been our hallmark since MING’s inception in 2017. From sapphire mosaics to groundbreaking luminous materials, the world’s lightest mechanical watches, and universal bracelets crafted from diverse materials, every watch we create is a testament to our dedication to pushing boundaries. The Bluefin is no exception, representing the hard work of the MING team and our incredible partners.”

The MING team extends its gratitude to the GPHG Jury and Academy, as well as to collectors and partners worldwide, for their unwavering support in bringing these visionary designs to life.

Since its founding in 2017, Horologer MING has set out to reignite passion and curiosity among watch enthusiasts. With a focus on refined aesthetics and engineering ingenuity, MING has released over 70 unique references, continuously challenging the norms of watchmaking. This commitment to excellence has earned the brand numerous accolades, including two prestigious GPHG awards in just a few short years.
