Monica Menez is a German photographer and director, however she tried lots of different things, including dancing, graphics and fashion design, before she found herself. Her first solo exhibition was launched in 2001 and by now she has a various set of awards and long achievements’ list. In 2013 her work was featured at the New York Fashion Festival. As an artist stated herself “My work is usually about sexy woman in unusual situations”. We can see that also in her photo session “Modern Pin-up”. In this work she also reflects to surrealism as well as retro with modern vibes. These pictures demonstrate fashion’s favourite themes of fetishism, fantasy and kind of seduction within. She tried to picture the torture in a different, playful way. And this may be the secret of her success, because Menez seems to have crazy interesting ideas for her shoots and demonstrating things in an easy and funny way is always an advantage in a serious and sometimes gloomy world.
