Latvian fashion brand “One Wolf” in the new autumn-winter 2021-2022 collection “The Game” continues to unravel socially important topics, this time focusing on clashes of opinions, society’s fight for justice and games played by people. They are revealed in unisex clothing and accessories of various types, dominated by contrasts of textures, colours and silhouettes.
Until November 5th, the collection can be viewed in person at the One Wolf salon in Riga, Latvia where its presentation is complemented by the fashion short film “Just a Kid”.
One Wolf’s autumn-winter 2021-2022 collection “The Game” is characterized by multilayeredness, the richness of textures and details, revealed in elements of classic, workwear and athletic style. Using visually opposite shades, prints and silhouetted contrasts, it reflects the endless contrasts of life’s game, which mark both rebellious courage and a longing for true joy, while reminding you that the winner of the game is the one who enjoys its course, learns the rules and is able to apply new strategies.
The new collection continues to express the brand’s interest in reflecting topics of public interest, including gender equality and social justice. Stylistically different clothes and materials in the same set of costumes symbolize the clash between modern materialism, the unpredictable course of development of world events and the excitement of an individual’s personal game and efforts to stick to the usual routine. The clichés of the adult world in “The Game” are interpreted in naïve children’s drawings, which form the basis of fabric patterns, prints and embroidery.
Adapting to pandemic conditions, over the past two years, the One Wolf brand has focused on unconventional collection presentations, both turning the shop window on the stage and bringing fashion to the urban environment.
Until November 5th, those interested in the “The Game” collection are invited every day, except Sundays, from 11:00 to 18:00 to “One Wolf” boutique Laipu Street 2/4, Old Riga. Collection exposition is complemented by shots taken by photographer Martins Cirulis, as well as a short fashion film “Just a Kid” directed by Ivars Burtnieks, the winner of the National Film Award “Lielais Kristaps”. The short film tells of the false joy that seemingly mundane and banal things bring to a person. Despite the efforts of adults to forget the excitement felt in childhood, the craving for it does not go over.
“As unique beings, we want to avoid clichés. We’re too good, too smart to admit that, in fact, we also like the habitual and naïve actions we choose to perform in secret,” comments One Wolf designer Agnese Narnicka, who has included various types of unisex clothing, accessories and jewellery in the “THE Game” collection.
The collection “Game” and its accompanying materials were created with the support of the State Culture Capital Foundation and the program “KulturELPA”.
