While everyone’s talking about new H&M stores opening all over the world and their advertising campaigns appearing all over the blogosphere, we decided to talk about its little sister- fashion brand & Other Stories. The first stores opened their doors this spring in 10 different European countries and grabbed our attention straight away.
H&M being fast fashion grand, we’re getting used to the most horrifying thought of meeting someone with the same dress/t-shirt/pair of jeans regardless of where we are – strolling the streets of London, chilling in Barcelona or rushing to work in New York. Worldwide expansion obviously brings a lot of profit for H&M but is it what we want? To look like the others?
We believe that our clothing tells a story about who we are, that is why we are charmed by & Other Stories. We love the fact that clothes and accessories are more concentrated on design and quality instead of being nothing more than catwalk copies. On the other hand, price-range is accordingly higher and that makes us to make the choice between quality and quantity. & Other Stories does not have stores all over the world yet which we believe is an advantage when talking about a desire to stand out from the crowd. The question is if it is just a matter of time until & Other Stories will become as global as H&M?
