An artist with a sound so distinct, PRAYER’s productions are unmistakable creations influenced by ambient to breaks and jungle to classical. Returning to his family label GRADE 10, Prayer will release ‘GOODBYE’, a moving three track EP out on vinyl and digital November 2nd, 2018. A cinematic, moody and stripped-back offering, ’GOODBYE’ is reminiscent of Prayer’s earlier work, and finds an ideal home on his collective GRADE 10 imprint.
Opener A1 ‘ACTION’ is the most compositional of the three, a nod to Prayer’s dedication for film music, which has shaped so much of his output. Dark, dramatic and dense, this track is an another-worldly combination of bass, synth and keys. B1 ‘LATE’ is a dark, but euphoric jungle number. Skittish drums and emotive strings make this the most ravey of the release.
Working across art, design, music and more, GRADE 10 have established themselves as a strong-minded, DIY force who’ve gone on to launch BACK TO LIFE club nights and radio. Much like Prayer, Grade 10’s sound refuses to be put in a box, with members Loosewomen, Kollaps, Classic Coke, Forever Unslaved, Prayer, 8Ball and Nokia Boys refusing to abide by genre rules or boundaries. Within the group, PRAYER works as one half of duo KOLLAPS.
