After a decade of shaping New York’s nightlife and earning global acclaim, The Brooklyn Mirage is set to return this spring—completely transformed. Inspired by operatic grandeur, the legendary venue has been reimagined from the ground up, setting a new benchmark for live music, immersive art, and nightlife when it reopens on May 1.
Since its debut, The Brooklyn Mirage has redefined nightlife with its open-air sanctuary, where world-class artists and audiences unite. Each winter, the venue disappears—only to return in spring. This year, however, marks a radical reinvention that pushes the limits of music, technology, and culture. Created by Avant Gardner’s in-house team, alongside design studios Hard Feelings and Studio Greenbank, this evolution merges architecture, audio, and visual artistry in an unprecedented way.
A Groundbreaking Architecture
At its core is a monumental heavy timber structure—one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. Measuring 197 feet by 164 feet and soaring 65 feet high, this sustainably engineered build replaces conventional steel and aluminium with cutting-edge prefabrication techniques, setting a new standard for large-scale event spaces.
Introducing Mirage 4.0: A Fully Kinetic, Immersive Experience
The venue’s signature LED video wall has been reimagined as the world’s first fully kinetic shutter system in a live music venue. When closed, it pays homage to The Mirage’s early, screen-free era. When open, it unveils a stunning 270-degree virtual environment—featuring 30K resolution, 100 million pixels, and over 3,000 tiles—surpassing even the largest global music festivals.
Complementing this visual masterpiece is a custom-built L-Acoustics sound system with over 100 precision-calibrated speakers and subwoofers, ensuring a flawless sonic experience from every vantage point. The venue’s dynamic stage design, featuring a 90-foot-wide performance area and a 400,000-pound rigging capacity, allows for arena-level productions—bringing the most visionary performances to life.
Elevated Nightlife
The redesigned Mirage enhances the dance experience with new opera-style balconies, providing unobstructed views, VIP hospitality, and ample space to move freely. Below, the dance floor has been expanded, giving guests more room to immerse themselves in the music.
“The Brooklyn Mirage has always been a place of electrifying energy—a space where music, community, and culture collide to create unforgettable memories,” says Josh Wyatt, CEO of Avant Gardner. “This isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a rebirth. We’re honouring its legacy while pushing the boundaries of music, art, and technology to create an entirely new, mind-blowing sensory experience.”
Guest Experience & Safety
The Mirage has also invested in infrastructure improvements, including enhanced lighting, signage, rideshare zones, and upgraded cell service. A strengthened security team, expanded private patrols, and increased first responder-trained staff will further ensure guest safety and comfort.
New Media Art & A Star-Studded Season
Beyond music, The Brooklyn Mirage is launching a New Media Art Program, showcasing internationally acclaimed and emerging artists—including talent from NYC’s creative community.
With over 100 shows confirmed for 2025, the season kicks off May 1 with an electrifying lineup featuring Sara Landry, Alesso, The Martinez Brothers, Peggy Gou, Anjunadeep, Artbat, Amelie Lens, Boiler Room, Excision, Rezz, The Chainsmokers, Underworld, and many more—with additional major announcements still to come.
