Having scaled both the UK and the globe to uncover the freshest creative talents, London’s contemporary illustration event is back with an international line-up like never before.
Returning to the Southbank for its fourth year, The London Illustration Fair 2016 will bring together over 65 of the world’s hottest emerging illustrators, designers, print makers and publishers for a three-day illustration extravaganza.

Taking place at the Bargehouse – OXO Tower Wharf, a four-storey warehouse on the Southbank, across 2 – 4 December, The London Illustration Fair 2016 will showcase the work of 26 emerging creatives, selected by an esteemed panel of industry experts made up of Tess Redburn – Senior Agent at Central Illustration Agency, Maya Gartner – Senior Children’s Book Editor at Phaidon Press, Ren Renwick – Managing Director at Association of Illustrators and internationally acclaimed graphic designer and featured artist Kristjana S Williams.

Exhibiting alongside the selected artists will be an awe-inspiring line-up of The London Illustration Fair’s all-time favourite publishing houses, creative agencies, illustration collectives, print studios, galleries, crafty businesses and animation studios. Expect pop-up appearances from 3rd Rail, A Two Pipe Problem, Cool Machine, Dog & Rabbit, East End Print, Hato Press, Illustrious, Laurence King Publishing, Of Cabbages and Kings, Origami Est, Outline Editions, The Doodle Man, Wide Eyes Editions plus many more.
Featured artists Kristjana S Williams, Guido Iafigliola and Jonny Wan will be exhibiting a selection of their newest prints and unveiling exclusive installations, collaborations and performances. Marvel at Kristjana S Williams’ 3-dimensional collage in the Bargehouse entrance and check out Jonny Wan’s one-off mural collaboration with animation studio Dog & Rabbit.
The Doodle Man
Transforming Floor 4 with the thought-provoking piece ‘Calais: Where Do We Go Next?’, Arts Council England funded reportage illustrator, Nick Ellwood, will be showcasing largescale portraits of the refugees he met while working at the Calais migrant camps.
Drawing inspiration from the building’s raw industrial architecture and its visitors, Uruguayan artist Guido Iafigliola will be hijacking Floor 4 with a live interactive ‘glitch’ performance – exclusive to the fair’s opening night. Not to be missed!
Keep your eyes peeled for mischievous street artist, The Doodle Man, who will be unleashing his infectious ‘graffiti spaghetti’ squiggles, pose for an illustrated portrait with The Magic Depictor, ‘Make Your Own Origami Christmas Tree Decoration’ with Origami Est and drop in for a letterpress master class with print pioneers, A Two Pipe Problem.
Additional festivities include a jam-packed programme of ‘get stuck in’ workshops for all ages and abilities, DJs and a fully stocked winter-warming bar.
From original artworks, limited edition prints to crafty must-haves, The London Illustration Fair 2016 offers something for every pocket. Aspiring scribblers and family Christmas shoppers get set for the coolest creative hang-out this winter!
